How to make a diffuser bracelet in less than 5 minutes

Sharing is caring!

Yes, I have a blog but really I'm not that crafty but I'm getting better.

I wish I was all Joanna Gaines but I really don't have much time or patience to get things perfect.

That is why I came up with this super easy and cute way to make a diffuser bracelet in no time flat.

I love the earthy, boho style of this bracelet and I get tons of complements every single time I wear it.

The best part is I can make one of these in about 5 minutes.

So I seriously wear it every where, from in the ocean to working on the farm it's always on my wrist and it has held up amazingly.

Now mind you, these are simple DIY bracelets and just a nice jumping-off point for you to try your hand at it.

I tried my best to articulate how to make one of my Diffuser Bracelets but a lot of it is going to be trial and error. Luckily the cording is cheap and all you are doing is making knots.

Make this DIY diffuser bracelet in 5 minutes!

All it takes is a little pre-planning to get your supplies.

I ordered all of mine from Amazon because with where I live I would have to travel over an hour to a craft store and there is no guarantee what I needed would be there.

This Boho style bracelet I created does not use a lot of beads.

I wanted something light and easy to wear this summer while constantly on the go.

This DIY diffuser bracelet does the trick.

Check out the bottom picture it shows the first bracelet I made at the beginning of the summer where I basically wore it for weeks. I never took it off even in the pool and in the ocean. It held up really well!

DIY Diffuser Bracelet Supplies

Lava Beads

Glass or Stone beads (I prefer the look of stone)

Leather or Wax Cording

Reclaimed Button ( I just used an old button I found laying around the house)

Measuring Tape

Essential Oils

Steps to creating your Diffuser Bracelet

First measure your wrist to see how long a comfortable bracelet would be on your wrist. For me something around 7.5 inches fits nice (yes I have tiny wrist).

You are going to be cutting 2 lengths of cord but they need to be extra long for all the knots and space we are going to create. Here is how I came up with how long to cut my cord.

7.5 inches x 4 = 30 inches of cord for the two pieces I need. (trust me on the X 4) each cord piece will be two strands and you need each stand twice as long as you think.

Cut two pieces of cord to the number you came up with above.

Creating the loop for your bracelet

Line the two cords up evenly and fold them in half.

At the center of the two halves create a loop by tying a knot.

The loop should be large enough for your button to slide through.

Then put your four strands together and slide down the cord till you have enough space for the button to slide through again.

This added section is nice to have if your bracelet begins to stretch because you have a second option of wearing it tighter.

You should now have a large loop and two separated knots on your bracelet.

Stringing your beads on your BOHO style diffuser bracelet

Now pick three of the strands and place one lava bead on a single strand and then one stone bead on each of the other two strands.

You will have one stand without a bead.

Then leaving a little room create another knot to tie off this bead section.

Repeat stringing beads on the next section and place a knot after the beads. (it does not matter which string you leave empty)

Repeat for the third and last time, stringing beads on the third section and place a knot after the beads.

I usually will then place a second knot very close to this last knot just as a precaution.

Attaching your button to the diffuser bracelet

Depending on the button you select, how to attach will be different for each person.

I wish I could give detailed instructions for this but it really depends on what kind of button you pick. I always try and place two knots after I have strung my button on so that I know it is secure.

How well does a DIY diffuser bracelet hold up?

Check out this before and after of my diffuser bracelets. the top lighter one started out like the bottom one.

But due to so much fun wearing it everywhere from around the house, the pool, the beach and just plain everywhere it has faded but I still love the look of it! I'd say they hold up pretty well.

Using Essential Oils on your diffuser bracelet

I like to put one drop of oil to each lava bead if it's not a strong oil.

Sometimes I will just put one drop on one lava bead.

It really is to your preference. I typically stick to oils that do not require a carrier so there is no worry of dilution ratios.

The oil will stick around on the beads till they evaporate. Some I smell for hours some less.

Do you dilute when putting on the beads for kids BTW I have a good assortment of Young Luving but judging from the picture of the starter kit, I am not sure I have this kit?

Hi Bonnie, Thanks for your question. I would dilute depending on the age of the child and the oil. I always ere on the side of caution. The starter kit was changed about a year ago to have a few of the oils in their vitality labels but the actual oils stayed the same. I think about 5 years ago they made a huge change to the starter kit so depending on how far back you bought your kit it may have changed some.
